Bonnier Publishing USA to Release Disney Character Bilingual Books

Beginning this summer Bonnier Publishing is partnering with Disney to for three years to release English-Spanish, English-French, and English-Mandarin bilingual books featuring beloved Disney characters. Board books, and leveled readers will be available as part of the new Disney Character Bilingual Books under the Bonnier licensing imprint BuzzPop.

Shimul Tolia, CEO of Bonnier Publishing USA says, “Stories featuring diverse characters are vital, nescessary, and in demand. The words on the page are just as important as the faces in a society that is home to 350 languages. Our entire publishing plan/list is dedicated to reflecting what America, and the world look like. We’re excited to collaborate with Disney in these new titles.

BuzzPop Publisher, Sonali Fry, says, “We’re happy to add Disney stories to these formats. Children’s books play such a crucial role in early development. Dual language books can help children build fluency in both languages and raise social and cultural awareness. Adding easily recognizable characters to the mix helps grab the attention of even the most reluctant reader, encouraging bilingual literacy at a young age.”

Disney Princess Numbers, and Disney Princess Colors will hit stores on July 31, 2018. With these iconic Disney Princesses and their friends, these early concept books will help introduce young readers to  counting and the colors of the rainbow in both English and Spanish. Dual language 8×8 movie tie-ins to Moana and Coco will follow, releasing on August 7, 2018. There are also ten more books planned featuring Disney Frozen, Fancy Nancy, Elena of Avalor, Mickey Mouse, and more to be released by the end of the year, and in to 2019.

Titles will have a retail of $3.99 for storybooks, and $6.99 for board books.
