I am sure you know, but 2 of the most requested changes for Fastpass+ would be the ability to get more Fastpasses and to have an option to park hop, well that will be happening on April 28th.

Here is how it will work, for now:

  • When you have used all of your 3 allowed fastpasses than you can go to an in-park kiosk and add one more. When you use up that one then you can get another one and so on.
  • You will have the ability to pick a fastpass for another park, after you have used your original 3.
  • You will also be able to use a repeat fastpass, as I call it. That means you can get another fastpass for an attraction that you already had a previous fastpass for earlier that day.

Keep in mind that once all of the fastpasses for a certain ride/attraction are gone than you will not be able to get a fastpass for that attraction.

I know, going to a kiosk every time you want an additional fastpass is not fun because I have seen that line and it is worse than some of the rides. So Disney is working on updating the My Disney Experience App and site to allow you to use the added features online and on your own smartphone/tablet. However for now your only option is to use the kiosks in the park.

I know many of you are doing the happy dance right now!

Wishing you Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust

Sunshine

  1. I was fine with the 3 fast passes. We have gone SO many times over the years and when there was the old way of doing fast passes rarely did more than 2 in a day. Take time to enjoy EVERYTHING the park has to offer rather than racing from ride to ride. To each their own. No one will every be happy.

  2. As I replied to Sandra above, PLEASE use Disney’s “Contact us” form and tell them! Tell them your disappointment now, and then tell them again after you’ve actually tried the system. The only way
they’re going to use the best option for all of us is if we push for it.
    Thank you!

  3. “the best option they had on their survey–after your FIRST FP was gone, you could add a 4th one.”

That’s the option I voted for!

Sometimes we only want to ride one ride in a park before we go to another park. I really hate it that I have to made all 3 at the same time, then get stuck in a park before even getting the opportunity to see if anything is available at another park.

This new system is very restrictive. Touring the parks just isn’t as much fun with the current FP+ system.

If they ever open it up to really being able to choose your fast passes as you go along, I don’t think this system is really right for my family.

  4. That make soooooooooooooooooooooo much more sense! I hadn’t even thought of that, but that is definitely how they should have done it.

The whole idea with FP+ was planning out your day, not scrambling to book 3 fast passes for as early as you can in the morning and you’re completely outta luck if you want to book a later attraction (like Fantasmic) or want something high demand (like the Anna & Elsa character greeting) and could only line up a later time slot.

We go in three weeks and this morning I logged in and changed many of our FP+ selections for earlier time slots. I’d rather save them for the afternoon when the park is more crowded and try to do standby lines in the morning, but this is what I felt like we *have* to do now. I’m glad we have the possibility of more FP+ but its far from the ‘ideal’ situation.

  5. i used Fastpass + in February and it worked fine. Ride a fastpass ride, then do a short standby line , repeat. I had to use in park kiosk, because the app kept freezing up on my android phone. Not sure how well this would work during busy times of the year. Disney really needs to do more support of non apple devices, LOL.

  6. this was not the best option, but it’s better than nothing. After all, if you have an FP for a nighttime experience like fireworks or Fantasmic!, this new feature is moot. I’m going to keep contacting Disney and trying to get them to use the best option they had on their survey–after your FIRST FP was gone, you could add a 4th one. Come on, Disney, that one makes MUCH more sense!
