During his second year of college, he was hired to produce character art and new show development for D.I.C. Animation. Randy worked on numerous television shows, was a comedy writer for MGM Studios, and also produced a variety of illustrations and design work for toy companies. After leaving California in 1995, he continued his freelance work in Florida. In 1998, he began a new career as Senior Artist with Disney Design Group and oversees the creative for art and collectible locations in both Florida and California.
