Ask a Disney Question: Top Four Table Service Restaurants.

This question comes from Jennifer, who wants to know:  What are “your top 4 table service meal restaurants”?

Jennifer, thanks for your question and for reading the site.  Great question and I actually have a new one to add.  Here they are in no particular order:

Via Napoli in Epcot’s Italy pavilion, this place is new and amazing.  Disney finally got pizza right with their wood fired pizza with fresh mozzarella. The ricotta fritters served with a pitcher of chocolate syrup and whipped cream are worth the trip alone. The dining room is open and pretty and you can see the three large wood burning ovens and the pizza prep area if you go to the back of the room. If you’re on the dining plan, this restaurant is only one table service credit and probably the best buy on site right now.  It’s also still possible to get a walk-up. I highly recommend it.

California Grill, located on the top floor of the Contemporary Resort.  It’s the classic Disney signature dining experience.  The service is very good and you can’t beat the view of  Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom. It’s one of the top restaurants on property just for the view, but the food also makes it worth a trip.  It’s all good, but they really shine when it comes to sushi, appetizers, and desserts.  Try to get a reservation during Wishes.

Artist Point, located in the Wilderness Lodge.  The dining room here looks different than any other restaurant on site, with tall ceilings and wood accents. It really does feel like you’re in the Pacific Northwest.  I know that some people have had less than stellar meals here, but I think it’s one of those hidden treasures on site where you can usually get a reservation and a reliable steak.  The mushroom soup is incredible and the desserts are as well.   There’s nothing on this menu that isn’t familiar and yet it’s also not ho-hum.  Bonus points for being able to accommodate large groups easily.  Visit during Christmas so you can sit out by the fire in the lobby afterwards and soak up the holiday spirit.

Boma, located in Animal Kingdom Lodge. I’m not a buffet fan so this is a hard one for me to like, but the food is so fresh and there’s so much variety, you can’t help but like it.  They’ve also got a great selection of desserts.  They’re small, two-bite morsels that are signature level quality.

Hope that helps!
